About

Air Afrique is a bilingual (English and French) cultural magazine founded in 2023 by a Paris-based creative collective. Inspired by the former pan-African airline of the same name, the magazine reimagines its legacy as a platform for African and Afro-diasporic creativity, identity, and cultural dialogue.

The publication celebrates African heritage through a blend of archival exploration and contemporary expression. It revisits the spirit of post-independence African modernity by drawing from the airline's historical materials—such as its in-flight magazine—and places them alongside new works by artists, photographers, writers, and designers from across Africa and the diaspora.

Each issue features a carefully curated mix of essays, visual art, fashion editorials, interviews, and cultural commentary. The magazine aims to bridge past and present, creating space for nuanced reflection on art, identity, global movement, and Afro-diasporic experience.

In short, Air Afrique is a forward-thinking cultural magazine that honors Africa’s postcolonial history while shaping a contemporary, transnational vision of Black and African creativity.
